Since opening in 2005, juju organics™ has been on the cutting edge of all-natural, non-toxic, and organic professional hair, skin, and body products and services.
juju organics™ started in 2005 as juju salon & organics, a small organic hair salon owned and operated by stylist Julie Ebner in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With a lifelong passion for holistic, sustainable living, Julie wanted to create a salon where the customer felt comfortable, healthy, and cared for. juju salon & organics became the first wholly organic salon in the Philadelphia area.

The catalyst for Julie's commitment to health and an organic lifestyle was the birth of her first daughter, Lucie. It was then she chose to fully put into practice her education in Eastern religion as well as her own private practices of yoga and vegetarianism. juju, which means magic or a holistic charm used for healing in West African culture, is also Julie's childhood nickname. The salon, spa and on-line store are merely an outward expression of the inner ideology she has come to embrace throughout the years.

The concept of offering all-natural hair care with all-natural and organic products quickly caught on; Julie immediately hired more staff members to accommodate the growing clientele list. The demand for all-natural and organic services prompted Julie, with her husband Craig, to open juju spa & organics in 2007 for clients who wanted spa services with the same warm environment and healthy choices offered at the salon. juju spa & organics mixes state-of-the-art equipment with organic, plant-based products for revolutionary skin care and spa treatments. Like its sister salon, juju spa is dedicated to procuring products from companies who use, respect, and promote organic harvesting and growing. Both juju salon and juju spa have won honors from City Paper Choice, Philadelphia Magazine's Best of Philly, myfoxphilly HOT LIST, and Daily Candy.

All of the hair, skin and body products offered on juju's on-line store, have, literally, been used on thousands of happy clients at juju salon and spa by licensed, certified and experienced practitioners.

juju displays its sustainable and ecological philosophy in all aspects of its business. Here are a handful of environmentally friendly practices that we utilize at both our spa and salon: recycled and second hand eclectic wood pieces fill the spaces. juju is a Fume Free Salon and Spa: no ammonia hair color used and Low or no VOC nail polishes used by our nail technicians. There are no synthetic fragrances or perfumes in any of juju's products, and non-VOC paints were used when renovating the salon and spa. There are works by local artists on display. Both the salon and the spa are Peco Wind-Powered. juju is active in the city's sustainable business community, is a member of the National Association of Eco-Friendly Spas & Salons and is Green Office Certified. juju only uses 100% biodegradable bags, recycled paper bags and fair-traded, reusable jute bags for its retail sales. All spa sheets, blankets and robes are made from 100% organic cotton and/or bamboo.

Julie, a graduate of Temple University, the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute, a certified cosmetology instructor, a former paralegal and a wife and a mother of two, feels she is doing her service to the community.
"I want to help others by doing business with cruelty-free, charitable manufacturers who are responsible to our communities and to our planet," she says.
