ABOUT JUJU

juju salon & organics X juju vintage home is an intersection of wellness, beauty, design, sustainability and community. Juju’s mission is to help people live healthier, minimize their carbon footprint, and think sustainably without having to sacrifice a great look and style.

“Long before I ever picked up salon shears, I spent 14 years working as a paralegal—handling dozens of toxic tort cases where workers and consumers suffered severe health consequences from chemical exposures.

When I opened Juju Salon in 2005 as Philadelphia’s first organic, all-natural, non-toxic salon, it came straight from that experience. I didn’t want my clients or myself breathing in toxic fumes every single day.

Back then, the beauty industry in the US was—and still is—notoriously unregulated. There was no internet or social media flooded with “organic” lifestyles; I had to dig in and do all my own rigorous research just to figure out how and where to source truly non-toxic color and products.

With a lifelong passion for holistic, sustainable living, I wanted to create a space where every client feels truly comfortable, healthy, and cared for. In 2023, I took that a step further by adding a vintage homewares storefront to juju, creating a hybrid business that extends our sustainable philosophy into the objects we bring into our homes.”

“I literally had the best possible experience at this salon after trying another organic salon. I was totally thrilled with my experience and will be making this my home salon from now on.”
