Impaled bunnies have feelings too!  Says our dear juju client and artist, Elaine Erne. We just put up an exhibit with her prints, please come explore The Lives and Traumas of Stuffed Animals – a series of comically disturbing depictions of Mr. Bunny and his friends who are under siege but who always put forward a cheerful personae no matter what is happening.  The work uses dark humor to explore emotional survival in overwhelming situations.  The series is made up of very large graphite pencil drawings, lithographs and woodblocks.

Elaine Erne – the artist
Elaine received her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and her MFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.  She currently lives in Philadelphia and is on the faculty of the Moore College of Art and Design and the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial.  She is a member of Nexus, Foundation for Today’s Art; Women’s Caucus for Art;  and a former fellow of the Center for Emerging Visual Artists. Her work has been exhibited locally and nationally. And it is cute. And dark. And I know a few people who’d be excited to receive an impaled bunny print for holidays. Come see them!
