QiGong for Health & Wellness: What an Ancient Chinese Practice Can Do For You Today!
For more than 5000 years, QiGong was one of the best kept secrets in the world. This ancient Chinese practice of energy cultivation was handed down directly from master to student, and practiced behind monastery walls, deep in bamboo forests, and on top of solitary mountain retreats.
QiGong is composed of two basic practices; deep abdominal breathing, and slow, focused movements of the body. Both of these practices keeps the Qi moving through the body in a balanced way, promoting good health. Stress and tension are the two main factors that obstruct good Qi flow, and when that happens, the risk of illness and disease is increased.
Consistent practice of QiGong has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce stress, increase mobility and flexibility, strengthen the immune system, and improve the functioning of all internal organs.
This class will be an introduction to simple, yet powerful QiGong exercises. No prior experience is necessary, and is open to all ages. Hosted by juju spa’s wonderful and talented Kevin Starbard.
